This page explains what personal information we collect when you enquire about or book a trip, why we need it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

1. Who we are

Africa Wandering Peak Safaris is a tour operator based in Kaloleni, Arusha, Tanzania. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

You can reach us at info@africawanderingpeaksafaris.com or on +255 719 123 401.

2. What information we collect

Information you give us

When you send an enquiry through our contact form we collect your name, email address, country, telephone number, the number of adults and children travelling, your enquiry subject and your message.

If your enquiry becomes a booking, we will also collect the information needed to make the arrangements: full names as they appear in passports, passport numbers and expiry dates, dates of birth and nationality, dietary requirements, relevant medical or mobility information, next-of-kin and emergency contact details, travel insurance details and flight details.

Information collected automatically

Our web host records standard server log information, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the site available and secure.

We do not run advertising trackers or analytics profiling on this website.

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your information to:

  • Answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation โ€” this is at your request, and in our legitimate interest in responding to potential guests
  • Make and manage your booking, including passing the details camps, lodges, airlines and park authorities need โ€” this is necessary to perform our contract with you
  • Meet legal, tax and immigration obligations in Tanzania
  • Keep you safe while travelling, including sharing emergency contact and medical information where it is needed to protect someone’s vital interests
  • Send you occasional information about our trips, where you have asked us to

Where we rely on your consent โ€” for marketing, for example โ€” you can withdraw it at any time.

Health and dietary information is treated with particular care and is shared only with the camps, guides and medical providers who need it to look after you safely.

4. Who we share it with

We share your information only where it is necessary to deliver your trip or to meet a legal obligation. That means:

  • The camps, lodges, hotels and resorts on your itinerary
  • Domestic and international airlines and charter operators
  • Park authorities, including TANAPA and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, where permits require guest details
  • Our guides, drivers and ground staff
  • Payment providers and our bank, where a payment is being processed
  • Professional advisers, and government or regulatory bodies where the law requires it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Third-party services used by this website

This website relies on a small number of external services. Each one receives some information when your browser loads a page:

  • Formspree processes our contact form and delivers enquiries to our inbox. The details you type into the form pass through their systems.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used across the site. Your browser requests the font files from Google’s servers, which means your IP address is visible to Google.
  • Google Maps provides the embedded maps on our contact and trip pages. Google receives information about your visit when a map loads.

These providers act under their own privacy policies, which we would encourage you to read.

6. Cookies

This website does not set any cookies of its own, and does not use local storage to track you. We do not run analytics, advertising or profiling scripts.

The embedded Google Maps frames on some pages may set cookies from Google when they load. If that concerns you, most browsers allow you to block third-party cookies without affecting the rest of the site.

7. Sending information outside your country

We operate from Tanzania, and your trip is delivered in Tanzania. If you are contacting us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in Tanzania, and shared with the suppliers listed above.

Tanzania is not the subject of an adequacy decision by the European Commission or the UK government. We take care to share only what is needed, and to work with reputable suppliers, but you should be aware that the legal protections available may differ from those in your home country. By sending us an enquiry or making a booking, you understand that this transfer is necessary for us to respond to you and to arrange your trip.

8. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to two years, since travellers often return to an idea a season or two later, and are then deleted.

Booking records are kept for seven years after travel, to meet Tanzanian tax and accounting requirements and to be able to answer any question that arises about a past trip.

Passport copies and medical details are deleted once they are no longer needed for the trip they were collected for.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy
  • Have inaccurate information corrected
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your information
  • Receive information you gave us in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent to marketing at any time

To exercise any of these, email info@africawanderingpeaksafaris.com. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.

Please note that we may be unable to delete information that we are required to keep for tax or legal reasons, or that we need to deliver a trip you have booked.

10. Children

We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Where children travel with a family booking, their details are provided by the adult making the booking, who is responsible for them.

11. How we protect your information

This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and our enquiry form submits over an encrypted connection. Access to booking records is limited to the staff who need it.

Please do not send passport scans, card numbers or other sensitive documents by ordinary email or WhatsApp. Ask us and we will arrange a secure method.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.

13. Contact and complaints

If you have a question or a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us first at info@africawanderingpeaksafaris.com โ€” we would like the chance to put it right.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and remain unsatisfied, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Questions About This Page?

If anything here is unclear, ask us before you book โ€” we would rather explain it now than surprise you later.
