A Hidden Turquoise Oasis

Tucked into the dusty plains between Moshi and Arusha, Chemka โ€” also known as Kikuletwa Hot Springs โ€” appears like a mirage: a pool of astonishingly clear, warm, turquoise water shaded by tangled fig roots and swaying palms. The springs are fed by groundwater filtering down from Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, so the water stays a comfortable temperature all year.

It’s not a wildlife park but a place to simply relax โ€” swim, drift, leap from the rope swing and unwind, making it a favourite escape after a safari or a Kilimanjaro climb.
