Moshi is one of the tourism centers in the northern safari circuit of Tanzania. The closest tourism spots include Kilimanjaro National Park, Mkomazi National Park, Lake Jipe, and Lake Chala. There are also several waterfalls, natural springs, and tropical forests. Tours can also be arranged from Moshi to other areas such as Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, and Tarangire National Park. Day 2

Full Day Moshi – Materuni Village & Waterfalls

After breakfast depart for a cultural tour at Materuni Village, lunch in Moshi town and depart for the Moshi city tour.

A tour to Materuni Village and Waterfalls is a great way to spend a day away from the bustle of town life. It is an opportunity to see how local fruit like avocados, mangos, lemons, and bananas grow, as well as learn some of the local history, traditions, village economy, agricultural and cultural life. When you get to the waterfall, you can refresh yourself in the natural pool, so swimsuits will come in handy! The tour will continue with a visit to the local village lying in the coffee plantations. The villagers will demonstrate the process of coffee farming and guide you through the preparation of coffee from a bean to a cup. Sing and dance along with the Chagga people as they are grinding, roasting and boiling the beans. When the coffee is ready, villagers will serve lunch – a national Chagga meal. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel in Moshi.

Day 3

Moshi – Arusha National Park – Arusha

Drive to Arusha for Arusha National Park, walking safari and game drive.

Experience a walking safari. Safari in the Arusha National Park means a light trekking with a ranger. You will walk in the tropical forest and watch animals outside the car. The most amazing thing is that you will be able to walk up to the crater of Meru (the second highest peak of Tanzania and the fifth highest peak of Africa) which is located right in the park. This is a fantastic experience, worth adding to your Tanzanian adventures! Dinner and overnight at the Hotel in Arusha.

Visitors to the park in the June to November dry season can expect to see large herds of thousands of zebra, wildebeest and cape buffalo. Other common resident animals include waterbuck, giraffe, dik dik, impala, eland, Grant's gazelle, vervet monkey, banded mongoose, and olive baboon. Predators in Tarangire include lion, leopard, cheetah, caracal, honey badger, and African wild dog. Dinner and overnight at the Camp in Tarangire.

Bustling with a variety of cultures from around Tanzania, the little town of Mto wa Mbu lies at the entrance to Lake Manyara National Park. A local agricultural hub, the town is famous for its crops of rice and the distinctive red bananas that Tanzania is known for. A half-day tour of the town in the company of a local guide gives travelers the opportunity to interact with local farmers, as well as artisans, craftsmen and painters. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel in Karatu.

Day 6

Karatu – Serengeti National Park

Morning departure to Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Highlands, with picnic lunch.

The Serengeti supports an incredible abundance and diversity of wildlife, from the Big Five (although black rhinos are rarely seen) to giraffes, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals, warthogs, and a huge variety of antelope. The Grumeti and Mara Rivers are home to grunting hippos and gigantic prehistoric-looking crocs, known for their feeding frenzy during the annual wildebeest river crossings. Serengeti National Park offers what many consider the essence of an African safari. Massive animal herds march across the wide-open savannah as far as you can see, while predators never fail to add drama to this idyllic scene. Dinner and overnight at the Camp in Serengeti.

Morning drive to depart for Karatu, stopping for the crater tour in Ngorongoro Crater, with picnic lunch.

A visit to the Ngorongoro Crater is an experience of a lifetime. As the world's only intact caldera, the crater is the top attraction of the 8,292km²/3,202mi² Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There are few places that have comparable wildlife densities. It is not unusual to see the Big Five in one day here. And all this is in the most amazing setting with a backdrop of the 600m-/1,968ft-high crater wall. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge in Karatu.
